Our investigative support is bespoke to each partner and project and spans every level. We map and analyse transnational criminal networks, we provide real-time actionable support to frontline partners. We also look at the convergence between environmental crime and other forms of criminal activity.

Case Study: Support to a rhino poaching investigation in Southern Africa.

Connect with Local Partner

Langland is approached by an NGO partner investigating a spate of rhino poaching. While the partner has a good understanding of criminal activity on the ground, they wish to understand the wider criminal networks involved.
Exploitation of Data

On the receipt of information about locations associated with suspected poaching incidents Langland uses a range of commercially available technical tools to build understanding of the suspects and to provide detailed information for partner follow-up investigations.
Verification

Langland’s NGO partner deploys personnel to verify our findings and provides additional information for Langland's analysts to exploit. We build further understanding of the wider network and identify detailed information about individual suspect.
Sharing of Findings

Langland provides Subject Analytic Packs on key suspects to assist our NGO partner in planning for decisive action.
Next Steps

The arrest of suspects and seizure of illicit material provides further information ‘start-points’ for Langland’s team to widen the investigation into other networks, including transnational criminal organisations and convergence with other forms of criminality.
